Heidelberg
It’s funny how some places have a way of coming back to you at a later stage in life.
As of writing this post, I’m visiting Heidelberg, and looking back, I had no idea I would appreciate this quaint, aesthetically touristy yet authentic city this much. Back then, I only had half a day to enjoy it, but now that I'm staying here for an extended period, it’s so different from back then, when all I did was hit the tourist spots.
I'd like to do this form of travel more often, living life at a slower pace, not just pursuing new sights for the sake of it, or taking pictures to prove that "I was here in this spot" to share on the usual suspecting social media platforms. After all, why are we in such a rush, all the time?
To travel is to experience, not just to take a picture of a landmark from the same angle everyone else does (ironic, I know. Exactly what I did). I’m aware that not everyone has the luxury of doing so, not me either. That’s why when the opportunity comes around, I embrace it with open arms.
